Procedure for Selecting Residents for Anandalok
Anandalok is a hostel away from home. This means we want the residents of the hostel to feel at home when they stay here. To do this it is important for us to know the individual, his habits, his likes and dislikes. Thus Anandalok follows a procedure for admission as stated below:

The individual must be between 18 and 40 years old on the date of application.

Admission will only be considered if there is a vacancy in the gents or ladies wing.

The guardian of the individual should apply in writing. The application form can be downloaded from our website and should be accompanied by a letter.

It must be accompanied by a proof of the residents age:

  • A medical certificate from a registered doctor attached to any hospital, stating that the individual’s medical history and associated disorders if any.
  • Reference from 2 persons who are not related but know the individual well.
  • A full size photograph of the individual

A team of two or three members of the Anandalok committee will pay a visit to your house where the individual lives at present.

If the team decides that the individual can be admitted, he will be invited to live in Anandalok for one or two weeks for an assessment of his self care skills, his adaptive behavior and his hobbies.

You will need to give us a copy of your passport or UID card and a legal undertaking that you will be responsible for his needs- both medical and financial – during the period he lives in Anandalok.

If the assessment results are positive he will be admitted as a resident in our Respite Care services for one month at a time.

Before admission, the proposed resident must have handicapped card and approved guardianship.

Payment procedures will be discussed before admission.
